History
Our mission started in 2018 after recognizing the need for a local canteen/rehab support team. Beginning with one volunteer in Florissant, we grew to four by the end of that year and responded to 32 scenes in 2019. As
word spread, neighboring departments across all of St. Louis County began requesting our support. We have since expanded to having response vehicles now stationed in Florissant, Fenton, and Mehlville. In 2024, our 38 volunteers responded to 189 scene calls and 226 total events, including fires, rescues, SWAT callouts, and haz-mat incidents. The Canteen is dispatched by Central County E911, the same agency that dispatches fire and EMS units. We are run entirely by volunteers and supported by donations, fundraising, and corporate sponsorships. While our primary area of response is St. Louis, our reputation is growing and we have assisted first responders on special request in surrounding areas and into Illinois. Our mission to serve first responders can only grow with the help of our supporters.
