History

Our mission began in 2018. Our director learned about the idea of providing canteen/rehab support from a team operating in St. Charles County. After learning what they were doing he approached the Florissant Valley Fire Chief at the time and asked “Why doesn’t Florissant have this?” Conversations led to starting the program with 1 volunteer. The program quickly grew to 4 volunteers by the end of 2018. In 2019 the volunteers had responded to 32 scenes. As support for the program continued to grow, so did the rules of response and coverage area. In 2020 the volunteers responded to 68 scenes, and as of the end of September 2021 they had responded to 63 scenes.
